Functional Nutrition · OAT-based 1-on-1 work

Stop guessing. Look at your actual biochemistry.

The Organic Acids Test reads what your body is actually doing — nutrient activity, mitochondrial function, neurotransmitter pathways, gut markers, oxidative stress. Then we sit down and turn the results into food.

Functional nutrition guidance — not medical care.

What an OAT actually shows

"Bloodwork sees about four micronutrients. The OAT reads seventy-six markers — and shows them as activity, not just levels."

What's an OAT

A urine test that reads your biochemistry, not your inventory.

The Organic Acids Test (OAT) is a urine-based functional test from Mosaic Diagnostics that measures metabolites — the byproducts your cells produce as they actually run.

Standard bloodwork tells you what's circulating right now. The OAT tells you whether your body is using it. It surfaces nutrient deficiencies that show up as functional gaps before they ever flag on a panel, and it reads pathways your GP doesn't typically test.

It's the test I reach for when "everything looks normal" doesn't match how someone actually feels.

What the OAT measures

  • Functional nutrient status — B-vitamin activity, mineral cofactor markers, antioxidant balance
  • Mitochondrial function — energy production at the cellular level
  • Neurotransmitter metabolites — the building blocks behind mood, focus, sleep
  • Gut microbial markers — yeast and bacterial overgrowth signatures
  • Detoxification pathways — how well your body is clearing what it should
  • Oxidative stress — cellular wear-and-tear markers

Who I work with

If you've been told "everything looks normal"

Years of "fine" bloodwork

Standard labs come back unremarkable but you don't feel unremarkable. Fatigue, fog, sleep that doesn't repair. The OAT often finds what bloodwork misses.

Already deep into wellness

You've tried protocols, elimination diets, supplement stacks. Some helped a little. Nothing solved it. You want a clearer signal before changing anything else.

Stuck mood or energy

Anxiety, low mood, ADHD-flavoured focus issues, or chronic low energy that doesn't respond cleanly to lifestyle changes. The OAT reads the pathways behind them.

Suspect something deeper

Maybe gut, maybe yeast, maybe oxidative load. You want a single test that surveys multiple systems at once before chasing each one separately.

How it works

From kit to plan, in roughly five weeks.

01

Pre-test intake call (60 min)

We meet on Zoom. I go through your history, current symptoms, what you've already tried, what you're hoping to learn. We confirm whether the OAT is the right test for you and what we're specifically looking for.

Within the first week of signing up

02

I order the kit on your behalf

I order the OAT directly from Mosaic Diagnostics for you. The kit ships to your home. The test cost (around $300) is paid separately and directly to the lab — I don't mark it up.

~1 week shipping

03

You collect the sample at home

A single first-morning urine collection. Freeze it overnight. Ship it back to the lab using the prepaid return label. Easy, painless, no clinic visit required.

~10 minutes of your time

04

Lab processes — I prepare your interpretation

Mosaic typically returns results in 2–3 weeks. While we wait, you start logging your food in OrthoFoodie so I have your real eating pattern alongside the lab data.

2–3 weeks lab turnaround

05

Results review call (60 min) + written protocol

We meet again. I walk you through your results marker by marker, explain what each one means for you specifically, and answer every question you have. After the call, you receive a written protocol — food-first, with clearly noted supplements only where the markers warrant them.

Once results return

06

4 weeks of follow-up support

You're not on your own once the protocol arrives. Direct messaging access for 4 weeks to refine, ask questions, and course-correct as your body responds.

Weeks 1–4 after results

The offer

Honesty check

Is this the right call for you?

Yes, if you…

Have ongoing patterns — fatigue, mood, focus, gut, sleep — that haven't responded to standard advice

Are willing to invest in deeper data instead of guessing your way through more protocols

Want a food-first interpretation, not a fifteen-bottle supplement stack

Have ~5 weeks of stable life ahead (no big trips during the protocol launch window)

Maybe not, if you…

Are looking for a diagnosis or treatment for a medical condition (work with your doctor first)

Want overnight transformation — biology takes longer than a calendar

Are recovering from an eating disorder — specialist care matters more here

Aren't ready to actually change how you eat once you have the results

Who's behind this

Sixteen years of autoimmune research, on my own body.

I'm Mischulaikah — founder of OrthoFoodie and a certified Functional Nutrition Practitioner. Before I built a platform, I spent sixteen years navigating my own autoimmune disease. Diet by diet. Supplement by supplement. Doctor by doctor. Functional testing — the OAT in particular — is what finally let me stop guessing.

This isn't a side hobby. It's the work I built my career around.

  • Diploma in Functional Nutrition
  • Founder of OrthoFoodie — the platform behind this work
  • Certified to order and interpret functional tests including the Mosaic OAT
  • Working 1-on-1 with clients across Europe and the US

Common questions

Things people ask

Why is the OAT cost separate?

Mosaic Diagnostics is a third-party lab. I order the test for you, but the lab fee is paid directly to them — I don't mark up the test or take a commission on it. Keeping it transparent means you see exactly what you're paying for: my work, and the lab's work.

Is the OAT covered by insurance?

Almost never, especially in Europe. The OAT is considered a functional/wellness test rather than a standard medical test, so plan on it being self-paid. If you're in a country where you can submit it for partial reimbursement, the lab provides receipts you can try with.

Do you also do supplements?

Only when the markers clearly warrant them. My approach is food-first — we close gaps through real food whenever possible. Supplements come in for things food alone can't address quickly enough. You won't leave with a fifteen-bottle stack from me.

Is this medical care?

No. This is functional nutrition guidance. I don't diagnose, treat, or cure conditions. The OAT is a wellness test, not a diagnostic medical test. If you have a serious medical concern, please continue working with your physician — the OAT can be a useful complement to their care, not a replacement for it.

What if my results suggest something serious?

If anything in your results points to something outside my scope, I'll tell you directly and recommend you bring it to your doctor or a specialist. The OAT report itself is also doctor-readable — you can take it to any clinician you choose.

How long does the whole process take?

Roughly 5 weeks end-to-end: 1 week for the kit to ship, ~10 minutes for you to collect, 2–3 weeks for lab processing, then your results call once they return. Plus 4 weeks of follow-up after.

Where are you based and where do you work with people?

I'm in the Netherlands. All work is done remotely via Zoom and messaging, so location doesn't matter on your end. The OAT ships internationally from Mosaic.

Refunds?

Once the OAT kit is ordered from the lab, that portion isn't refundable. My fee follows EU 14-day cooling-off rules — if we haven't started the work, you can withdraw. Once the intake call happens, you've consented to start, and refunds are case-by-case for genuine reasons.
